Types of Valorant Betting Odds
You must learn how to read the three most common types of betting odds or odd formats for Valorant betting. These formats include the decimal format, fractional format, and the American format. While the first two are more common, you might also come across platforms that have the option to represent odds in the American format.
Decimal Odds
Decimal odds are by far the simplest to understand. Decimal odds use a number with a decimal, like 5.5 or 3.2. To find the amount you will get in return, multiply the decimal odds with your wager. For example, if you are betting $100 on an outcome with odds of 3.2 and you win, you will get 3.2 times 100 which is $320.
Fractional Odds
The fractional odd format is very popular. We use fractions to represent odds in the fractional format, like 4/1 or 3/2. In this format type, the second number represents your betting amount, and the first number represents the return you will get on that. So, if you bet $100 on an outcome with odds of 4/1, you will get $400 in return.
American Odds
Finally, we have the American odd format. The American format is not that popular when comes to Valorant betting. It is also a bit complicated to understand. In the American format, the odds are represented using a number with a positive or a negative sign right next to it.
The outcome that is likely to happen has odds with the negative sign. On the other hand, the outcome least likely to happen has a positive sign. For example, let's say that a team has dominated all matches in a tournament. The odds of that team winning another match will have a negative sign, like -150.
This number tells you that you will have to bet $150 to win $100. On the other hand, +150 represents that you will win $150 for betting $100.
